Gymnasts praise

Movements regarding the Thai national gymnastics team are preparing to participate in the 33rd SEA Games between 9-20 December 2025. After the 49th National Games “Chan Games” have finished. In the women’s artistic gymnastics section, Sasivimon Muangpuan won 6 gold medals. As well as in rhythmic gymnastics, Piyada Peeramathukorn won 6 gold medals and another 3 silver medals. While in aerobic gymnastics, the Thai national team paraded to win gold medals as expected.

Captain Sarayut Pattanasak, President of the Gymnastics Association of Thailand, revealed that after the competition he consulted with Dr. Kusuman Prasertsri, Vice President of the Association and Manager of the Thai National Team, and received confirmation that the overall picture was satisfactory. National Team Project athletes Sasivimon Muangphuan collected all 6 gold medals. In addition, there were Lily Prateep and Tarnida Sofia Rukcare who developed very quickly. As well as Piyada Peeramathukorn who swept 6 gold medals in every apparatus.

“In this national sports competition alone, Piyada showed her outstanding style. Capturing everyone’s attention and keeping them focused on her alone. Even better, she scored over 30 points in every apparatus. Meanwhile, the young gymnasts who were not on the national team are still chasing her down to 27-28 points because each of them has made significant progress. Each apparatus requires more than 3 rotations, and some of them can do 5 rotations. This shows that the future of gymnastics should be bright, especially in preparation for the 2027 SEA Games in Malaysia. In 3 years, this group of young athletes should be able to compete with their seniors.”

In addition, Dr. Kusuman Prasertsri mentioned about the team preparation for the SEA Games. That since it is currently the New Year’s festival, all athletes will be allowed to return home and will be called for an official training camp again in early January 2025, with a total of 23 athletes: 4 male artistic gymnasts, 3 female artistic gymnasts, 9 rhythmic gymnasts, and 7 aerobic gymnasts.
